Guess what they’ve got over at Ironwood Farm? Lambs! Soft, floofy lambs!

I figure this means spring is just around the corner. And though I love winter, and its promise of snow days, I’m pretty darn excited about the prospect of warmer weather and gardening. We’re going to plant a proper veggie patch this year. I’m imagining a harvest of tomatoes, zucchini, asparagus, lettuce and maybe a few other treats. I have a to-do list as long as my arm for July and August (when work winds down almost completely). And I’m getting a new camera in the summer. A year-end treat-of-all-treats for myself. A real, grown-up camera. With lenses and stuff. It’s all I think about these days. That, and cake. But who doesn’t think about cake at least four times a day?
Also (and this will bring me back to the lambs), I’ve registered for a felting class next week, and I’m hoping that Ironwood Farm will be a good source of wool roving. They may have other plans for their woolly friends, but I’m thinking we should put those sheep to work for movita.

You are welcome to come shear, wash, card, dye, spin, etc…anytime!
So, can I own one of the sheep? You could take care of it ‘n stuff. But it would really be mine.
Sheeeeeep! Nothing cuter than baby lambs (ok maybe baby people but it is a close call). I really miss seeing the sheep in the fields in spring, I would hug them senseless given a chance. It always cracked me up to see the lambs standing on the mums backs, now I have kids not so much.
Sounds like you have great stuff planned for the summer, it all sounds nummy and delicious. What kind of camera are you getting? DSLRs rock!
Baby anythings are cute. But sheep? Man o man. Now, I’m sure they don’t smell great, but I’d probably still share a bed with one of ‘em.
I think I’ve settled on a Canon Rebel T1i. I’m very excited. (As in, pee-my-pants excited.) It will be much fancier than my current point and shoot – though in fairness, it has served me well. I spent the half the morning at Henry’s drooling over cameras and lenses. The lady there was very nice and did a very good job of helping to create a mile-long wish list, which has now been prioritized and posted in the kitchen. I’m basically counting the days until I can get my DSLR groove on. And then I’m going to take a class! Because grown-up cameras have a lot of buttons and things like sensors and… sophisticated camera-type stuff. My current photography involves only the on/off button.
Just wait until I get a fancy macro lens and I can post pictures of lamb eyelashes. Just. You. Wait.
Do you know who’s coming to NS this summer and loves cherry tomatoes?
