Behold, my week in cakes. (Because I suspect many of you enjoy looking at photos of sweets more than actually baking the sweets.)
And possibly my favourite: the LionBear Smash Cake.
In case you’re feeling productive:
- Swiss meringue buttercream (the addition of melted and cooled chocolate makes the most divine chocolate frosting on the planet)
- easy chocolate cupcakes
- how to pipe petals on cupcakes
- make a pumpkin carriage cake topper
Ermehrgerd! Earl ther CERKS!!!!!!
This why my kitchen is extremely slippery. (Butter.)
Stunning!
You know, you’re right… I do like looking at photos of cakes. But you know what I like even more? Eating them. Do you have a suggestion box around here? 😉
This is exactly why I burned the suggestion box.
Love them all!! Do you have a baking business now? Or it’s just kind of a “for friends” thing?
I don’t have a licensed/commercial kitchen, so let’s just say it’s for friends…
All beautiful creations! I’m especially enamored with the adorable cupcakes. <3
Thanks, Sarah!
The use of Cheerios for that lion cake is genius!!!!!
You know us so well. Hell yeah, I love looking at photos of cake. But then I get hungry, drool-y and a general pain in the ass to everyone in my vicinity until I’m actually stuffing cake into my face. My husband thanks you 😉 These are gorgeous, Movita. And that lion bear cake is too damn cute! Brilliant use of the Cheerios!
The cake photos are delicious but it’s the yolk photo I’d like to hang on my wall.
Thanks, Bridget! That was one of those photos that I snapped off in under 5 seconds, and ended up being better than anything I spent HOURS on in the past six years. SIGH.
This happens to the best of us. Like me. Every day. Whenever anyone has any sort of food and I do not.
Pure torture! I gave up desserts for Lent. sniff, sniff….
This is tragic! I’m so glad I don’t have to do the Lent. It would surely kill me.
It’s like you KNOW us! Gorgeous cakes, Movita!
OMG a Cinderella cake? That is magazine quality – they all are. I have to make a cake in the morning for the mother-in-law’s 91st birthday and it’s going to be a plain carrot cake. I’m shamed. 🙂
gee, you did not warn me that I would have an orgasm while licking the buttercream frosting.
OMG.
I was completely caught off guard. whoa!!
