Sorry to hear this Brooke! Yes, bake times are just a guideline – it really depends on your oven. Also, if a cake gets over-mixed (which I’ve done many a time), it can make it tougher and seem drier. The frosting is more European in terms of flavour. North American icings and frostings tend to be very, very sweet, so that’s what most of us are used to. (I love them!) But this frosting has no added sugar – it’s meant to showcase the sugar and coffee. You might like a mocha buttercream frosting – try a google search – it would be sweeter and still have the chocolate/coffee flavour. Good luck!

Mine came out dry not moist like the pic here 🙁 I will try again maybe 40 mins was too long. I will repost when I try again 🙂 oh and had to add confectioners sugar to the frosting it was way too bitter for us 🙁
