the view from here – a visit with pussycat

Remember when I told you that Pussycat and I would be baking you lots and lots of treats, and that upon my return from visiting with her, I’d be telling you all about them? Whelp, that was before I knew about that hand mixer up above. When I arrived in Georgetown, armed with recipes and inspiration, Pussycat reluctantly brought out that 38-year-old hand mixer. It is missing one of its beaters, which makes mixing stuff pretty impossible. But for some reason, Pussycat’s mother really likes it and refuses to replace it. It can shape things into a mound. So, if cheeseballs take off in the same way red velvet and macarons have, she’ll be set.

Given the hand mixer situation, Pussycat and I were forced to visit bakeries, go to yoga class, and plan our future domination of the world over hot drinks. And instead of baking you lots of stuff, we baked you two things: wicked awesome shortbreads and peppermint patties. I’ll be telling you all about them soon, but in the meantime, I thought I’d share some photos of my visit with you. You know, just in case you like looking at photos on Sunday evenings just like I do.

Also, you should probably know that Pussycat is currently sharing her accomodations with a gay cat named Sequins. I hope that makes you as happy as it makes me.

I hope you’ve had a perfect weekend!

Excited to hear about all the treats you baked up! And for some reason, there is “snow” falling on my computer screen when I visit your blog! If that is your doing, very nice touch 🙂

I was wondering about the snow falling too, there isn’t any falling outside, that I am sure about, so why is it snowing in your house?

Man, you guys think I’m way smarter than I am. WordPress does this every year – snow magically appears on my blog for December. And then it goes away. I don’t question these things. I just enjoy…

(Boy, I wish some real snow would start falling!)

Oh yes, I do like looking at photos, particularly if they have cats in them. Looks like a lovely weekend. 🙂
