ginger 2010 – house #1

I’ve received hundreds six entries for this year’s battle royale. I’m betting we’ll have millions of entries next year. This year’s houses are darn-right inspirational. I’ll be posting pictures for your perusal over the next couple of days. This will allow you to consider each house very carefully before casting your vote for the winner. Fun, right?

The first of our houses comes from the dynamic duo of Poppy and Karen.

I think that we can agree that it’s bright. Like, kinda blinding. This little cabin has a lovely rustic feel. There’s a generous use of icing. I love the wreath over the door. And the stars on the roof that look like they’ve been hacked out of the sky? Awesome. I also like that the house sits on a gingerbread platform. That’s taking ginger to the max.

To the side of the house… wait… are those gummi bears fighting? And is that a gummi bear up on the roof? Well played, ladies, well played.

You will be able to cast your votes for this year’s winner beginning later this week.

I agree with all Movita’s comments. A charming, rustic house and the gingerbread man is a lovely touch.

Poppy and Karen, those cunning mixes. They are all like ‘our ginger house is so sweet’ and then around the side it’s ‘Gummy bear fight club!’. That is what christmas is all about.
